Prime Minister Kim Min-seok visited Taehwagang National Garden in Ulsan on November 19 to inspect 'barrier-free (무장애; barrier-free) tourism' facilities aimed at improving access for visitors with disabilities and the elderly. Walking parts of the Ten-ri Bamboo Grove trail with Ulsan Mayor Kim Du-gyeom, he checked routes for wheelchairs and strollers and examined restrooms, rest areas, and information centers for accessibility, including Braille and audio services. Kim stressed that installing facilities is not enough — ongoing checks and fixes are needed because even small slopes or a single threshold can be a major barrier. He said the national garden should become an inclusive tourism model and pledged continued government support to boost regional tourism, linking post-APEC attention to local visitor growth.
