Enjoying Accessible Classical Music and a Showroom-Style Art Exhibition

A youth orchestra in Busan, Treff Orchestra, will hold its 2nd regular concert on the 28th at 7:30 PM at Buk-gu Culture & Arts Center. Conducted by artistic director Kang Sang-mo with soprano Jung Sung-yoon, the ensemble aims to make classical music approachable by reinterpreting familiar Korean popular songs (gayo) — including tunes associated with singers like Hyun In and composer Park Si-chun — into classical arrangements. Tickets are 10,000 won.
Meanwhile, Shinsegae Gallery (on the 6th floor of Shinsegae Centum City) is hosting a special exhibition titled “COLLECTIBLES: Spatial Aesthetics” through next month’s 14th. Presented in a showroom-style format, the show collaborates with multiple galleries and vintage furniture dealers to display about 200 items: original artworks, art prints, furniture, posters and collectible art pieces. Twelve artists, including Yeom Ji-ae, Kwon So-jin and others, explore layered emotions and landscapes that resonate with contemporary viewers.
