E-Land Logistics Center Fire Destroys 11 Million Fashion Items, Supply Chain Recovery May Take Months to Years

A massive fire at E-Land’s integrated fashion logistics center in Cheonan on Nov. 15 destroyed about 11 million items from brands like New Balance, SPAO, Shufen, and MISSO, disrupting deliveries and straining the company’s FW season operations. Although E-Land has its own factories—so production can restart relatively quickly—the loss of the centralized logistics hub means products must be redistributed to temporary centers and delivery routing, warehouse flows and IT systems must be rebuilt. E-Land says it has reallocated stock regionally and is doing emergency recovery, currently causing 1–2 day delivery delays, but industry estimates full normalization could take at least six months and possibly 1–2 years. The combined direct and indirect losses, including inventory and logistics reconstruction, may exceed last year’s operating profit for E-Land’s fashion arm. The company is working with authorities to assess damages and restore operations.
