Netflix will release The Black & White Chefs: Culinary Class War Season 2 on December 16. The competition pits 20 top-class 'white spoon' chefs (established professionals) against 80 hidden-gem 'black spoon' chefs (undiscovered talents). The new teaser and poster highlight famed white-spoon chefs including two-Michelin-star Chef Lee Jun, one-Michelin-star Chef Son Jong-won, Seonjae Sunim (a master of Korean temple food), and 57-year Chinese cuisine master Hu Deok-juk. Contestants respond with awe, noting the rarity of two-Michelin-star chefs in Korea and praising Hu Deok-juk’s legendary status. Season 1 was the first Korean variety show to top Netflix’s global non-English TV Top 10 for three weeks; winner was Chef Kwon Seong-jun of Napoli Mafia, and several black-spoon contestants later gained fame. Producers Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji promise new rules and missions, aiming for fresh emotion and fun while refining what worked in season 1.
