KAC Wins Gold at 2025 Green Apple Awards for Carbon Reduction Efforts

Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) won the Gold award in the carbon reduction category at the 2025 International Green Apple Environment Awards held in London. The Green Apple Awards, run by The Green Organisation (an EU non‑profit), honors global environmental initiatives. KAC was recognized for installing solar panels on unused parking land at Sacheon Airport to create Korea’s first RE100 airport (operating on 100% renewable electricity) and for running an Airport Carbon Point system that gives incentives to on‑site agencies and airlines based on their emissions reductions. KAC’s construction technology director said the award validates their international efforts and pledged continued work toward greener airports.
