A major exhibition, 'From the Renaissance to Impressionism: San Diego Museum of Art Special Exhibition,' is on view at Sejong Museum in Seoul through Feb 22. Co-hosted by the San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA) and Korean cultural firm Gaudium Associates, the show brings 65 works from SDMA’s 100th‑anniversary collection—63 paintings and 2 sculptures—featuring 60 masters such as El Greco, Goya, Claude Monet, Joaquín Sorolla, Amedeo Modigliani, and Suzanne Valadon. Highlights include El Greco’s The Penitent Saint Peter, Goya’s portrait of the Duke of la Roca, Hieronymus Bosch’s The Arrest of Christ, Monet’s haystacks, and 25 SDMA works never before exported (first public display in Seoul). Curatorial programming adds videos ('Masterpiece Moments') and music to guide visitors through 600 years of Western art history from the Renaissance through pre‑WWII modernism. The exhibition’s total artwork value exceeds 2 trillion won. (Sejong Museum: a major Seoul exhibition venue)
