Harmonica player Yoon Seok Lee reported that the World Harmonica Festival in Trossingen, Germany (Oct 29–Nov 2) concluded successfully with hundreds of participants from over 30 countries. The in-person event returned after an online edition in 2021. For the first time, a Korean—Yoon—served as a judge for the main chromatic harmonica adult solo category, evaluating both newly composed required pieces and contestants’ chosen free pieces. Yoon said it was an honor, especially to share the stage with his teacher Sigmund Groven. The international jury included masters such as Groven (Norway), Yasuo Watani (Japan), Sai Lio (Hong Kong), and Zhang Li (Taiwan). During the gala concert, Yoon performed in the “Asian Harmonica Variations,” presenting harmonica originals including James Moody’s “Toledo” and classical works by Mozart and Handel. He drew particular acclaim for a duet with Groven at the “Tommy Reilly Memorial Concert,” commemorating the 25th anniversary of the legendary classical harmonica player Tommy Reilly. Yoon expressed pride in continuing tradition and hopes to share strong music worldwide through the small but powerful harmonica.
