Incheon opens winter with '2025 Sangsang Platform Sulsul Festa,' a weekend festival (Dec 22–23) celebrating traditional Korean alcohol and local brewers at the Sangsang Platform in the Gaehangjang area. The city and Incheon Tourism Organization host a city-centered event to boost local breweries and show how traditional drinks can be part of everyday culture. About 32 breweries from across Korea will participate, including 12 Incheon-based makers such as Onggeundal, Tak Brew, Incheon Beer, and others, alongside local food brands offering pairings. Interactive programs include making makgeolli (traditional Korean rice wine), crafting makgeolli-based cocktails, and creating natural soap from brewing lees—some sessions require pre-registration and a fee. Local companies like outdoor brand KOVEA will run pop-ups and lounges, highlighting collaboration between breweries, food vendors, regional firms, and tourism to revitalize the old port district as a sustainable cultural platform. Organizers say the festival aims to lower barriers to traditional alcohol culture while reinterpreting local identity for a modern audience.
