Daejeon’s iconic mascot group, the Kkumssi Family (derived from Kkumdori), has launched a Seoul promotion in collaboration with Seoul’s mascot Hachi & Soul Friends. The two cities will share staged travel content across official SNS accounts, with Hachi—Seoul’s guardian who eats worries and returns happiness—visiting Daejeon first, then the Kkumssi Family touring Seoul’s landmarks. The series will feature many Kkumssi characters (Kkumdori, Kkumsuni, their children Kkumbichi, Kkumgyeori, Kkumbyri, Kkumdari, Kkumdongyi, the alien Neb, and friends Dor and Mongmong) and aim to boost Daejeon’s city brand. Episodes will be posted sequentially on Daejeon and Seoul Instagram accounts; Daejeon’s mayor said the collaboration highlights Daejeon’s growing urban brand and plans to expand character partnerships for promotion.
