From Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, the Seogu Cultural Center in Daegu presents “Ryu Young-geun: Solo Invitational Exhibition,” featuring over 70 works including hangul and hanja calligraphy, literati paintings (muninhwa), ceramics, and fans. Ryu, a long-practicing master of calligraphy who studied both Korean (hangul) and Chinese-character (hanja) scripts, is an invited artist of the National Art Exhibition of Korea and a recipient of the Presidential Award in calligraphy. He has served as chair and judge for national calligraphy and literati-painting competitions and now leads the I-eun Calligraphy Center in Namwon, where he mentors students and promotes traditional calligraphic spirit. Organizers say his work blends the depth of traditional calligraphy with a modern sensibility, conveying life philosophy and warm humanity. The show runs through Dec. 2.
