Chagall’s ‘Bouquet’ (est. ₩9.4–15bn) Leads Seoul Auction on Nov 24–25

Seoul Auction will hold a two-day sale on Nov 24–25 at its Gangnam center, offering 90 lots valued at about ₩29bn. The Evening Sale on the 24th features 26 top works totaling roughly ₩27bn—the largest single auction in Korea since 2008. Highlights include four works by Marc Chagall, led by Bouquet de Fleurs (oil on canvas, 1937, 100.4×73.2cm) with an opening estimate of ₩9.4–15bn, and Paysage de Paris (1978, est. ₩6–9bn). Major Korean modern and contemporary names are also on offer: Kim Whanki’s 1969 New York work 15-VI-69 #71 I (est. ₩0.7–1.2bn) and Lee Ufan’s large 1990 painting With Winds (est. ₩0.85–1.2bn). Early sculpture from artist Lee Bul (Cyborg W10, est. ₩0.6–0.9bn) and a large David Hockney landscape Less Trees Near Water (est. ₩0.48–0.8bn) are included. The Day Sale on the 25th targets new and younger collectors with 64 lots totaling about ₩2.1bn. All lots are free to view at the Seoul Auction exhibition through auction day.
