South Korean food company Ottogi has released two new cup noodle variants: ‘Cup Noodle Yeolramyeon’ and ‘Light & Joy Low‑Sugar Cup Noodle Buldak.’ Aimed at consumers who want spicy flavors while managing their diet, the products recreate Ottogi’s popular fiery ‘Yeolramyeon’ taste at about 120 kcal and a lowered‑sugar (2g) Buldak (fire chicken) flavor using allulose. Both use mung bean and potato starch noodles (tofu skin noodles) that are not fried, resulting in about 1g fat, 0g trans fat, and 0g saturated fat, and come in microwave‑safe packaging. A QR code on the package links to microwave recipe ideas like soft tofu Yeolramyeon and Buldak risotto. Pre‑orders start Nov 19 on Coupang and Ottogi Mall, with wider rollout from Nov 26; Ottogi is also running an 88‑person product trial via Instagram. (Buldak: a popular Korean spicy chicken flavor)
