Italian luxury house Bottega Veneta has unveiled a black-and-white cinematic film and 12-photo series titled “What Are Dreams.” Actor Jacob Elordi, a recent brand ambassador known for his role as the Creature in Netflix’s Frankenstein, quietly narrates Duane Michals’ poem while moving through dreamlike imagery—curtains, a floating feather, and a distorted convex mirror. The project pairs Elordi with 93-year-old American photographer Duane Michals (a pioneer of the “sequence photo” and visual storytelling) to explore the question “How do you make the invisible visible?” Michals’ long-running symbols—marionettes, tilted stands, and suspended feathers—meet Elordi’s emotional rhythm to create a cross-generational dialogue that connects Bottega Veneta’s past and present and captures the tension and depth when different eras and genres collide.
