K&L Museum in Gwacheon is hosting “Tactics of the Times,” a group exhibition of contemporary Korean artists running until Dec. 28. The show examines how artists respond to rapid societal changes. Shin Min’s large sculpture “Mijin Yujin” depicts two women in a stiff stance wearing black hairnets (symbolizing service industry workers), satirizing the dehumanizing pressure on workers to appear flawless. Nam Da-hyun’s performance-installation “Jeff Koons Special Sale” recreates Koons’s metallic balloon-dog as a real balloon sold for 1,000 won, humorously critiquing how an artwork’s market name and auction records can overshadow its intrinsic value. Works by Kim Myung-chan, Yoo Ah-yeon, and Johan Han are also included. K&L Museum, known for provocative shows including a 2023 solo exhibition by Austrian artist Hermann Nitsch, aimed with this exhibition to present fresh perspectives and participatory pieces for visitors.
