As the year-end season approaches, major Korean hotels are rolling out luxury Christmas cakes priced in the hundreds of thousands of won. Walkerhill’s “2025 Lumière Blanche” is priced at 380,000 won, featuring white chocolate mini houses and fences evoking a snowy village. Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and other top hotels are offering limited-run cakes priced around 300,000–350,000 won, while Four Seasons Seoul’s “Diamond Four Seasons Leaf” (30만 원) uses premium ingredients like black truffle and high-percentage chocolate. Even cakes priced lower, such as Grand Hyatt Seoul’s range from 38,000 to 130,000 won, show broad demand. Last year’s top-priced cake from The Shilla (400,000 won) renewed interest—industry watchers are curious whether The Shilla will set a new record this year. Many of these luxury cakes sell out quickly, with hotels taking reservations and offering limited quantities.
