Incheon International Airport Corporation held an expert workshop on Nov. 12 to discuss upgrading the airport’s quarantine and pest-control systems. Participants included the airport’s quarantine staff, the National Quarantine Station at Incheon (국립인천공항검역소), the Korean Society of Preventive Medicine (한국방역학회), and private research groups such as CESCO Research Institute (세스코연구소). Presentations and panel discussions covered three main topics: domestic and international trends in pest control, plans to modernize Incheon Airport’s integrated quarantine system, and improvements to quarantine response procedures. The goal is to create a cleaner, safer airport environment and to elevate Incheon’s quarantine capabilities to world-class standards, with potential export of a “K-airport quarantine system” to overseas partners.
