Jung Eui-cheol, a Korean artist, displays his distinct painting technique at his solo exhibition 'Defamiliarization' held at Gallery Jeonganmyeon in Gongju. He creates artworks by painting on plastic, then peeling and reversing the paint onto canvas, revealing its 'inner flesh'. Following his move to Gongju, his work has brightened in tone and relaxed in composition, reflecting his new environment. His current pieces aim to attract Korean audiences who may find portraiture unfamiliar, using soft lines achieved by painting with wet wipes. The exhibition also includes selected daily drawings from the past three years. Open until March 21.
