Korean Musical Association Welcomes Tougher 'Scalping 3 Laws'

The Korea Musical Association praised the government and ruling party’s plan to strongly push the so-called 'scalping 3 laws' (암표 3법) within the year. The association welcomed new measures such as punitive fines and bounty rewards for reporting scalpers, saying previous penalties were ineffective and recent amendments to the Performance Act lacked real teeth. Ticket platforms have been strengthening monitoring systems while organizers face heavy administrative burdens like one-ticket-per-person rules and on-site ID checks. The association expects tougher enforcement to reduce organized scalping, restore normal ticket distribution and pricing, and improve audience access—allowing friends, couples, families (including elderly parents) to sit together without paying premium prices.
