Sejong City, together with the Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation and Blue Ribbon Survey, has selected 44 local eateries as 'Sejong Love Restaurants' to promote regional culinary identity and develop food tourism. Candidates were nominated from April to July through restaurant applications, citizen and neighborhood (eup/myeon/dong) recommendations, and Blue Ribbon listings. Selection criteria included taste, facilities, service, and regional uniqueness across Korean restaurants, Western-style eateries, snack shops, and cafes. Over 70% of chosen venues were nominated by citizens and neighborhood offices, increasing trust in the results and highlighting the area’s gastronomic potential. The foundation will publish video coverage of on-site evaluations on its official YouTube and social media. The list will be promoted via the city and foundation websites, a gourmet booklet, maps, and SNS, and tourism programs—such as guided alley tours of Jochiwon and cooking seminars—are planned. The city intends to make this a regular selection to encourage wider participation and establish these spots as local culinary landmarks.
