South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is stepping up efforts to grow exports of K-consumer goods tied to Hallyu (Korean Wave), focusing on K-fashion, food, and beauty. Trade negotiator Yeo Han-gu visited a Musinsa Standard store in Seoul and met major retailers and platforms including Musinsa, Coupang, CJ Olive Young, Kurly, and Deliverd Korea to discuss export barriers and expansion strategies. The ministry plans to expand marketing through global events like K-pop concerts and Hallyu expos, collaborate with KOTRA trade offices to resolve logistics, certification and IP issues, and strengthen country-specific certification consulting. It will also promote cross-border e-commerce by building global malls, linking local logistics partners, and supporting customs and certification processes. An official action plan for boosting Hallyu-linked consumer goods exports will be announced before year-end.
