Sejong City, working with the Sejong Cultural Tourism Foundation and Blue Ribbon Survey, selected 44 local restaurants representing the city’s culinary character. The list includes diverse vendors—chicken, kalguksu (handmade noodle soup), sundae-gukbap (blood sausage soup with rice), lamb chops, and cafes—chosen after a four-month nomination process and expert evaluation of taste, facilities, service, and local uniqueness. The city will promote the selections via its website, a gourmet booklet, maps, and online communities. Together with the foundation, Sejong plans tourism products such as a Jochiwon alley tour (Jochiwon is a neighborhood in Sejong) and on-site cooking experience programs to develop the eateries into tourist resources and establish Sejong as a culinary travel destination.
