Lotte Wellfood celebrated Pepero Day (Nov 11) with a 'Welcome to K-Sweet Holiday' event in New York's Father Duffy Square, aiming to promote the Korean snack holiday worldwide. The event featured Stray Kids as global ambassadors, a 2-meter Pepero sculpture, a Pepero character called "Ppero" photo zone, quizzes about the product and Korean culture, performances, and product tastings. Lotte also ran pop-up stores and outdoor ads in LA, Vietnam, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. A Seoul subway Line 2 event, “Find the Pepero Stray Kids Hid,” drew about 10,000 participants. Lotte says it plans to expand Pepero Day campaigns to make Pepero a global K-culture mega brand. (Pepero: a popular Korean chocolate-dipped biscuit snack; Pepero Day: an informal holiday on Nov 11 when people exchange Pepero as gifts.)
