The Seoul Life History Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled “Waiting for Baby” from Nov. 14 until March 29. Based on a 2024 research report on Seoul citizens’ pregnancy and birth culture, the show traces changes in childbirth practices and birth rates in Seoul since liberation (광복) using artifacts and interactive displays. The title comes from a picture book by late writer Park Wan-seo. The exhibition’s first two sections highlight socio-cultural shifts—such as changes in delivery locations—while the third section focuses on the warmth of pregnancy, birth, and family. Free admission; open 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, closed Mondays and New Year’s Day. Promotional events include a gift diaper bag for the first 100 visitors who wear a pregnancy badge and share an SNS post, and commemorative postcards for visitors who complete a stamp-taking activity. The museum hopes the exhibition will rekindle joyful memories for parents and offer positive, reassuring experiences for those expecting or imagining parenthood.
