Nurse-Artist Park So-young Debuts 'All Beings Shed Tears' Painting Exhibition

Park So-young, a nurse at Kangwon National University Hospital with over 30 years of service and a lymphoma survivor, is holding her first solo painting exhibition 'All Beings Shed Tears' at Papyrus cultural space in Chuncheon until the 30th. The show features about 30 works, including pieces she painted during cancer treatment; its centerpiece is 'Free your mind, stay this moment (마음을 자유롭게, 지금에 머물라)'. Park, who is also training as an arts therapist (in a PhD program), a certified yoga teacher (RYT200), and a meditation guide, has worked in ICU and end-of-life care and currently serves in several academic and clinical roles. She says sorrow can be purifying and a force for renewed life, and urges people to cherish the present and care warmly for one another.
