An earlier-than-usual cold wave has led to double-digit increases in sales of women's outerwear and knitwear across South Korea. Brands under Shinsegae International (VOV, Studio Tomboy, Ilaeil, Dellarana) reported strong sales from late October, with VOV’s outerwear up 230% over a recent period and Studio Tomboy’s women’s down padding up 89% (men’s line up 366%). Knit specialist Ilaeil saw winter knit sales rise 103%, with its 100% cashmere line continuing to sell out; outerwear rose 194%. E-Land’s ROEM, after launching a 2025 FW campaign featuring singer Chuu (a popular K-pop idol), saw coat sales surge about fivefold, led by belted mac coats. Online platforms also recorded sharp increases: Zigzag reported half-coat transactions tripled and W Concept saw a 50% rise in cold-weather fashion items. Retailers are preparing targeted winter promotions and discount events for heated innerwear, legwear, and homewear. The industry expects continued strong seasonal demand as temperatures remain low.
