The Lotte Cultural Foundation's music festival 'Classic Revolution 2025' (Aug 28–Sep 3, Lotte Concert Hall) was named Best Work in the classical category at the 12th Edaily Cultural Awards. Now in its sixth edition since 2020, the summer festival showcases domestic and international musicians during a slow season for classical performances. This year’s artistic director was world-renowned violinist and conductor Leonidas Kavakos, and the program highlighted Bach and Shostakovich, featuring artists such as violinist Yang In-mo, soprano Hwang Su-mi, the Seoul Philharmonic, and the Gyeonggi Philharmonic. Judges praised the festival for presenting both musical universality and timeliness, and for sustaining classical music programming despite cuts to public funding. The award selection combined jury votes, online voting, and secretariat review; winners across six genres will be announced at the ceremony in Seoul’s Sejong Center.
