Cheorwon Troupe Stages Dance-Music Drama 'The Village with the Moon Well, Woljeong-ri'

A new dance-music drama, 'The Village with the Moon Well, Woljeong-ri,' based on Cheorwon County's folkloric tale of the 'Moon Well Girl' will premiere on the 15th at 7:30 PM at the Hwagang Culture Center. Produced by the Cheorwon Arts Troupe (leader: Cheon Dae-woong) with support from Cheorwon County and the Gangwon Cultural Foundation, the original work explores filial piety and sacrifice through a blend of traditional and contemporary music, dance, and video. The production features rich stage design, dynamic ensemble choreography, and evocative music aimed at a multi-generational audience as a healing performance. Choreographers Seong Ga-young and Yang Na-yeon say scenes inspired by the Cheorwon Plain's cranes and starlight will portray the harmony between nature and humans. The performance is free and open to first-come, first-served admission at the Hwagang Culture Center. (Moon Well Girl: a local Cheorwon legend)
