Hana Tour and Japan’s H.I.S. Form Strategic Partnership to Lead Global Travel

Hana Tour signed a strategic partnership (MOU) with Japan’s leading travel agency H.I.S. to build a “next-generation tourism community.” The two companies will combine global networks, hotel and airline infrastructure, and digital capabilities to jointly develop travel content, improve service quality, run global marketing, and pursue strategic investments. Based on networks across Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia, they aim to offer cross-border customer experiences and create customized products by merging each company’s tourism content. The partnership seeks to strengthen competitiveness against OTAs (online travel agencies) by enhancing global value chains and plans to expand travel content and infrastructure exchanges into Asia, Australia, the Americas, and Europe to achieve economies of scale and maximize shared profits. Hana Tour recently set up an investment entity in Singapore and is expanding collaborations in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia as part of its global-bound strategy.
