Shearling Slippers Trend Surges as Cold Hits Korea

As colder weather arrives in Korea, online fashion retailer Musinsa reports a sharp rise in winter footwear sales. From Nov 1–7, sales of cold-weather shoes grew 120% year-on-year, with padded and fur-lined slippers up 3.5 times. Shearling (wool-lined) slippers are popular as easy, everyday winter items; UGG’s Signature Suede Tasman slipper remains a top seller for both men and women thanks to suede and natural shearling details. Padded footwear like SUBU’s Winter Sandal and PUMA’s Tough Terra High Gloss boot—praised for glossy material, ankle-adjust straps, and anti-slip soles—are also in demand. Folding boots with bohemian folds and fur linings continue from last winter. Musinsa says the chill arrived about two weeks earlier than usual and recommends pairing shearling or suede shoes with similar-material outerwear like fur (fur jacket) or sheepskin (mustang) coats for a warm, stylish winter look.
