Leopard (ho-pi, 호피) prints are resurging in Korea, especially on bags and shoes, as part of a broader 'retro chic' trend. Once popular in 1950s–60s Hollywood, leopard patterns are being reinterpreted as versatile accents rather than extreme statements. Retailer LF reports a big jump in searches and sales—‘leopard bag’ searches up 526% and ‘leopard shoes’ up 100%—and brands from local labels like Atte Vanessa Bruno Accessories and Jill by Jillstuart to international designers such as Isabel Marant expanded leopard offerings for fall/winter. Brown-centered patterns on accessories (bags, boots, scarves) are driving strong sales, with some items near sellout. The industry says leopard has moved from niche taste to a mainstream, mood-changing motif for the season.
