About 150 international and Korean origami experts gathered in Asan for the two-day “2025 Kokk al Festival, Joy! Korea Origami & Paper Culture Convention,” held by the Paper Culture Foundation and World Origami Union. Marking the 38th anniversary of the K-origami movement and the foundation’s 20th year, the event promoted “one sheet of paper folding peace,” aiming to globalize K-origami. Programs included keynote talks, awards and honors for master practitioners, leader training sessions (K-종이접기 = K-origami), a large-paper folding ceremony for peace and Korean reunification, and the first large-scale origami competition. The foundation also highlighted AI-integrated curricula and creative education linking origami with math, science and art, while community partners and sponsors supported outreach and global exchange efforts.
