Visitors flocked to Mount Gyeryong National Park on the morning of the 8th to enjoy late-autumn foliage. By 11 a.m., 2,543 hikers had entered via the Donghaksa trailhead, with a mix of warmly dressed and lightly clad walkers observing red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo (은행나무) leaves along the paths. Officials expect even larger crowds later in the day, especially toward the Nammaetap (남매탑) route, and warned that falling overnight temperatures have accelerated leaf drop. They said this weekend or at latest next weekend is the last chance to see peak colors this season. Forecast highs were 17–19°C in most of Daejeon and Chungnam.
