As November arrives, three Korean destinations offer distinct autumn experiences. In Gyeongju, ginkgo trees (은행나무) bathe ancient sites like the national treasure Jeonghe-sa Ten-Story Stone Pagoda in warm yellow—paired with quiet rural roads, the UNESCO-linked Oksan Seowon (a Confucian academy) and the centuries-old tree at Ungok Seowon for striking photos. Dori Village’s ginkgo grove and the ginkgo-lined Unificationjeon avenue are also fall highlights. In Namwon, Gwanghanru Garden’s moonlit pavilions, pond symbolizing the Milky Way, and the romantic Ojakgyo bridge create a gentle nightscape; nearby “Postcard Cafe” (a cultural space) offers hands-on postcard, scent and shared-audio experiences for intimate communication. In Jeongseon, Mt. Mindungsan is famous for silver waves of eulalia (억새) grass—an accessible hike (1.5–2 hours) leading to sweeping silvergrass fields and a karst “doline” formation nicknamed a mini Baengnokdam, a popular photo spot. Each place offers different autumn moods—golden, moonlit, and silvery—perfect for walking, photography, and seasonal reflection.
