Incheon International Airport has expressed interest in hosting Cirque du Soleil with discussions about installing a permanent performance theater on airport grounds. Incheon Airport Corporation President Lee Hak-jae met Cirque du Soleil chairman Daniel Lamarre at the company's Montreal headquarters on Nov. 5 to discuss the proposal. Cirque du Soleil, known in Korea for the show 'Kurza' (Kooza), has visited Korea nine times through touring productions. Lee emphasized that Incheon, as a Northeast Asian hub airport, would be an ideal location if Cirque seeks an exclusive permanent Asian venue, and said the airport will actively attract foreign investment to develop surrounding areas and contribute to national economic growth.
