The French musical Notre-Dame de Paris, marking its 20th anniversary of performances in Korea, will return with its French original tour to Daegu Opera House from Nov. 14–23. The show—based on Victor Hugo’s classic set in 15th-century Paris—tells the tragic love story around Esmeralda and the three men Quasimodo, Frollo, and Phoebus. Celebrated for its poetic French lyrics, diverse choreography, and striking stage aesthetics, the musical helped broaden Korea’s performing-arts scene after the original French cast sold out in 2005 and subsequent productions drew more than 1.1 million domestic attendees. The through-sung (all-dialogue sung) score spawned hit songs like “Le Temps des Cathédrales” and “Belle,” and global album sales exceed 11 million. The anniversary tour features both original members and new international cast, including notable performers in roles such as Quasimodo and Esmeralda. Tickets range from 70,000 to 190,000 KRW; suitable for audiences aged elementary school and above.
