South Korea’s major burger chains are treating French fries as a key brand differentiator, rolling out campaigns and new fry products. KFC launched a “Taste Guarantee” campaign that replaces fries immediately if customers are unsatisfied, emphasizing quality and trust. McDonald’s introduced a new “Family” size fry roughly double the medium portion for sharing. Burger King is offering seasonal and sauce-enhanced fries—such as deep truffle, Texas chili, peanut butter, and volcano chili fries—to expand flavor options. Lotteria is expanding its potato lineup with R/L sizes, seasoned fries, and a new “imperfect (motnani) cheese potato” (uses irregular-shaped potatoes) inspired by a popular Taiwanese dessert combination of potato and cheese. Industry observers say fries, long a staple side, are evolving into a core area for customer-focused menu innovation and brand differentiation.
