Kim Jong-gyu and Archbishop Kim Hee-jung Win 3rd Haepyeong Awards

The 3rd Haepyeong Awards honored Kim Jong-gyu, former chair of the Cultural Heritage National Trust (Peace Award), and Archbishop Kim Hee-jung of the Catholic Church (Coexistence Award). The Haepyeong Award was established by the civic group Sangsaeng and Peace to commemorate Haepyeong (Hae-pyung) Hanyangwon (1923–2016), a former chair of the Council of Korean Ethnic Religions. The award ceremony will take place at The Plaza Hotel on the morning of the 11th alongside a memorial service marking the 9th anniversary of Hanyangwon’s passing. (Haepyeong: honorific nickname of Hanyangwon)
