Top 10 Korean Destinations of 2025 Announced by SRT Awards

SRT Magazine announced the winners of the 2025 “SRT Awards,” naming ten must-visit Korean destinations: Goheung, Gongju, Mokpo, Andong, Yeongju, Ulju, Iksan, Chuncheon, Haman, and Haenam (listed alphabetically). The awards, now in their 7th year, combined votes from 12,160 readers and evaluations by travel experts, using criteria like food, trekking, activities, night views, and pet-friendly options. A separate list of 15 promising “2026 visit” cities was also revealed, including Ganghwa, Gimje, Daejeon, Miryang, Buyeo, Sangju, Asan, Yangsan, Yeosu, Wando, Ulsan South District, Wonju, Jangheung, Paju, and Hampyeong. Highlighted attractions include Goheung’s Palyongsan cypress healing forest, Gongju’s Gongsanseong fortress (a UNESCO site), Mokpo’s Gohado island with coastal decks, Andong’s traditional Hahoe Village, Yeongju’s Museom Village with its historic one-pole bridge, Ulju’s prehistoric petroglyphs (UNESCO), Iksan’s unique Mireuksaji temple ruins with “3 pagodas and 3 main halls,” Chuncheon’s 248-meter Saero suspension bridge (Chuncheon Saero 248), Haman’s Maliyasan tumulus cluster with ancient star motifs, and Haenam’s Ddangkkeut Observatory at the southern tip of the peninsula offering wide sea views. The magazine reported high reader satisfaction: 87.2% satisfied, 57.8% read the magazine on trains, and 57.9% said it inspired travel plans. Full details appear in the November issue of SRT Magazine.
