The National Palace Museum, National Heritage Agency and Incheon International Airport unveiled two new media art pieces at Incheon Airport Terminal 1’s traditional culture media wall. One piece digitally recreates six Changdeokgung court paintings (bu-byeokhwa) from restricted palace halls, allowing viewers to virtually ‘walk through’ interiors with 3D-rendered curtains, wallpaper patterns and lighting to replicate color, texture and depth. The second piece, “Digital National Treasures 530,” is a collaboration with Korean-Colombian artist Gala Foras-Kim, adapting her series of 530 national treasures (sketched in colored pencil) into a large-scale digital installation that reinterprets Korea’s heritage through contrast and light. A public experience event and QR-linked leaflet with videos and small gifts will run at Terminal 1 from Nov 19–22.
