Seoul Tourism Organization will host ‘2025 Seoul Hiking Week’ in November to promote three mountain hiking centers: Bukhansan, Bugaksan and Gwanaksan. Weekend highlight events called the ‘Seoul Eco Hiking Festa’ will take place Oct 15–16 and 22–23 near Namsangol Hanok Village (a traditional Korean village), featuring performance hikes that reflect Korea’s historical eras and urban hiking experiences. The program runs across three themed weeks: Bukhansan Week (Nov 4–9) with dynamic routes like Baegundae and trail running; Gwanaksan Week (Nov 10–16) focused on family-friendly, accessible forest walks; and Bugaksan Week (Nov 17–23) offering nighttime moonlight walks along the Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall) with traditional lanterns (cheongsachorong) and city-view summits. There will be 14 guided hikes of varying difficulty, each limited to about 30 local and foreign participants, with English-speaking guides and safety staff carrying emergency kits. Visitors to the three centers can also receive instant Polaroid photos and souvenir prizes. The initiative aims to promote Seoul’s mountains as a major tourism highlight for both domestic and international visitors.
