The original Broadway touring production of the musical Wicked will open in Busan on the 13th at the Dream Theater (a musical-dedicated theater) — the first time the tour visits a non-capital city in Korea. The show, which follows Elphaba, a green-skinned woman discovering her true self, has attracted over 70 million viewers worldwide since its 2003 premiere and marks the Broadway show's 20th anniversary tour. Wicked previously reached Korean audiences in licensed Korean-language runs (a production that imports performance rights) and had its first Korea run in 2012. After the Busan performances, the tour will continue to Daegu’s Keimyung Art Center in January.
