At the 2025 Content Universe Korea event in Goyang, KAIST’s student team ‘Clockwork Cat’ won the grand prize at UNICON, a national university game development competition. A record 68 teams from 24 universities competed in the third annual contest organized by Unidev. Winners were chosen by on-site player evaluations. Clockwork Cat’s bullet-hell roguelike game “Time Snatcher Hand” earned the ministerial prize and 1.5 million KRW; it was developed over two years and will launch on Steam and Stove later this month. Seoul National University’s team ‘Abolyou’ took the excellence award with puzzle-simulation “Loop! Loop! Sushi,” about arranging sushi to meet cat-customer orders, scheduled for release in February. Other prizewinners included teams ‘ChocoBungeoSsamanko’ and ‘KiniMams’ with their titles. Organizers and sponsors (including Korean game companies like Devsisters, Neowiz, and Krafton) emphasized that UNICON supports amateur student developers by letting them showcase work and get direct player feedback to strengthen Korea’s game ecosystem.
