Namyangju Holds 18th Annual Arts Festival Bringing Community TogetherCreatrip Team

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province successfully held the 18th Namyangju Arts Festival at Iseokyeong Square. Organized by the Namyangju branch of the Korean Federation of Arts (한국예총), the festival featured traditional Korean music (gugak), theatre, music, visual arts and photography exhibitions, and hands-on workshops that attracted families, youth and seniors. Highlights included a large-scale calligraphy performance on cloth, a gugak program themed “Folk songs loved by Emperor Gojong,” a mime portraying family memories synchronized to camera shutters, and a comedy play about modern stress. Interactive activities such as a plaza book picnic and children’s art workshops offered visitors participatory experiences. Mayor Joo Gwang-deok attended, praising the festival as a collaboration between citizens and artists and pledging continued municipal support to integrate art into daily life.
