Stay & Explore: Sono and Korea Tourism Organization Team Up to Boost Domestic TravelCreatrip Team
a month ago
Sono International (part of Daemyung Sono Group) and the Korea Tourism Organization launched the “Stay & Explore” campaign to promote longer regional stays and revive domestic tourism. Signed on Oct 30 in Seoul, the partnership pairs Sono’s nationwide lodging network with KTO’s travel content to create experience-linked stay packages. Running through year-end with plans to expand to international visitors and local cooperation next year, the campaign centers on 18 Sono Hotel & Resort locations and offers “local experience stay” packages and online events. Featured programs include a black-faced spoonbill (흑두루미) ecology tour in Suncheon Bay (Sono Cam Yeosu), a nature-based “Color Hunting in Jeju” (Sono Cam Jeju), and a professional photo-led “Jindo Snap & Sound Tour” (Sol Beach Jindo). All packages operate Fridays–Sundays from Nov 14 to Dec 13 and can be booked via the Sono official website. On-site events include a travel postcard mailbox (handwritten cards are actually mailed), a tourism photo exhibition popup at Vivaldi Park (Hongcheon) with a digital tourism resident pass (디지털 관광주민증) offering discounts, and online comment/photo contests on KTO’s “Visit Korea” site through Dec 15 with prizes like hotel stays. Sono says the collaboration will combine regional charms with its hospitality to offer new travel experiences and support local tourism recovery.
