From Nov. 7–9, Uljin’s Jukbyeon Port hosts the annual “Jukbyeon Port Seafood Festival,” offering fresh local catches—yellowtail, squid, gizzard shad—and affordable seafood markets, live auctions, fish-cutting shows and the popular bare‑handed live‑fish catching experience (맨손 활어잡기). Evening events include lantern displays, a fishing‑boat parade and fireworks. Nearby eateries serve local specialties like gomchiguk (gomchi soup) as a hangover cure. Visitors can enjoy coastal views on the 4.8 km Jukbyeon coastal skyrail (모노레일), ride the Wangpicheon cable car to see ancient Korean pine groves (금강송) and the sea, and relax in local hot springs. Improved rail access and an affordable tourist taxi make Uljin easier to reach for day trips and family outings.
