South Korea’s health supplement market surpassed 6 trillion won in 2024, with 82.1% of surveyed households reporting they have purchased supplements—more than 8 out of 10 homes. Driven by “self-medication” and “healthy pleasure” trends, companies are expanding targeted portfolios across groups: women, men, children and pets. Lael Balance launched a plant-based melatonin chewable for women’s sleep health, combining plant-derived melatonin, L-theanine, lactium (a milk protein hydrolysate), L-tryptophan, magnesium and vitamin B6. Myositol introduced “Myositol for Men,” an inositol-based product aimed at male reproductive health using solvent-free myo-inositol. CheonhoN Care released “i-Ki-Ssuk HT042,” a mango-flavored stick jelly for children containing HT042 (a herbal extract complex recognized by the Korea FDA) plus nine vitamins to support height growth. Yuhan’s WilloPet line offers seven life-stage and function-specific supplements for dogs (puppy, adult, senior; respiratory, eye, joint, kidney care) using hydrolyzed protein and chewable or single-dose packaging for palatability and hygiene. Firms emphasize tailored formulations and convenient formats as supplements become everyday health tools.
