Koreans are increasingly choosing group trips to split rising travel costs. Search data from HotelsCombined and Kayak (Jan–Sep) shows searches for flights for groups of three or more rose 77% year-on-year, while two-person searches increased 37% and solo travel declined 11%. Japan is the top destination—Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka lead—with average airfares around 450,000 KRW (Tokyo), 290,000 KRW (Osaka), and 390,000 KRW (Fukuoka). Osaka is favored for easy access to Kyoto and Nara, and Fukuoka is popular for short trips from Incheon (about 1.5 hours). Vietnam ranks second for flight searches, offering affordable local prices and fares in the 300,000 KRW range; Da Nang is noted for beaches and the historic Hoi An. Thailand fares have risen to 400,000–500,000 KRW. HotelsCombined says demand for group travel reflects efforts to reduce costs and it plans more tailored travel solutions.
