Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic Classics Reissued as Digital Albums After 50 YearsCreatrip Team
a month ago
Apple Music and Apple Music Classical will exclusively release 10 remastered albums recorded by conductor Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic, originally made between 1971 and 1981, starting October 31 for four weeks. These key Warner Classics recordings—long hard to find on streaming services—include works by Mozart, Beethoven, Dvořák, Wagner, Sibelius, Bizet, Berlioz and Ravel. The original analog tapes were remastered at London’s Abbey Road Studios and offered as lossless digital files. Karajan, who led the orchestra from 1956 to 1989, is noted for the distinctive “Karajan sound” (풍부하고 유려한 현과 화려한 금관의 조화) and for modernizing classical recording techniques. Warner Classics plans additional digital releases in the latter half of the year.
