Thai FDA found excessive microbes in some batches of Hong Thai Panich’s 'Hong Thai Herb Inhaler (Formula 2)', a popular souvenir known as 'yadom' (aroma inhaler). Tests showed levels above limits for total aerobic bacteria, total yeasts and molds, and Clostridium species, violating public health product quality rules. Authorities issued a safety alert, are considering legal action, and warned consumers; violating manufacturers can face up to 2 years imprisonment or a fine up to 200,000 baht (about 8.8 million won). 'Yadom' is widely bought by Korean tourists and sold on local online shops, gaining extra popularity after being promoted by celebrities.
