Subculture Meets Mainstream at Halloween: Cosplay Festival and Indie Game Demos at 2025 Content Universe KoreaCreatrip Team
a month ago
The 2025 Content Universe Korea festival, held through Nov. 1 to coincide with Halloween (October 31), spotlights cosplay and indie games as subculture content brought to mainstream audiences. The “Cos Festa” at the Connect Hub showcases cosplay as a form of self-expression, featuring international cosplayers and panels on regional cosplay trends from Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Events include a cosplay runway, a talk show with popular Korean cosers (e.g., Tomia, Haru, Nyao), and performances by groups like Requiem. At the TechPoria zone, UNICON lets visitors play unreleased indie games created by university teams—69 teams from 24 schools—where developers and players interact and live voting helps decide awards. Organizers emphasize the festival’s role in turning creative subculture into a broader industry platform and supporting emerging indie game developers.
